Roberto Alagna and Aleksandra Kurzak set Tosca on fire 🔥 … Roberto Alagna's Mario Cavaradossi was perfect in all his depth, both vocally and scenically … an impressive and beautiful voice in its various aspects that earned him warm acclaim ❞ by Sabino Lenoci for L'Opera - International Magazine
READ MORE (EXCERPTS, translated from Italian):
« The Wroclaw Opera in Poland celebrates Puccini's anniversary with a production of Tosca, which closed the 2024 season. […] The impressive set design […] rotates to highlight the scenes of the opera [and] catches the viewer's attention. […] Michael Gieleta's directorial concept also focused on the excursion into each individual character. We think that the work done on Mario Cavaradossi and Floria Tosca was significantly eased by the two excellent performers: Roberto Alagna's Mario Cavaradossi was perfect in all his depth, both vocally and scenically; an impressive and beautiful voice in its various aspects that earned him warm acclaim from the entire audience in the packed hall, just as it was with Aleksandra Kurzak's Floria Tosca; beautiful diction, good phrasing and an exceptional interpretive line especially for "Vissi d'arte", to the exclaiming "Ecco un’artista!!". The singing cast featured the nice voice of Mikolaj Zalasinski with a good dark timbre, a Baron Scarpia of class, who, along with the two protagonists, formed a great trio for Giacomo Puccini's masterpiece. […] A theatre of great occasions, "sold out", which repeatedly called to the front of the stage all the protagonists of the show, especially Cavaradossi and Tosca. Another success of the Wrocław Theatre, which confirms its excellence in offering great performances on the Polish territory. »
