About the performance

"An exceptional show that delighted music lovers! On Wednesday 31 July 2024, tenor Roberto Alagna and pianist Yvan Cassar combined their talents for the show ‘Air d'opéra et mélodies italiennes’ orchestrated for the Ramatuelle Festival's Nuits Classiques.

Friends in life, this is not the first time the two men have collaborated: ‘We're doing a bit of opera because people want to hear Roberto in that register, but we also have a lot of Neapolitan and Sicilian melodies, so we're going to take a little trip,’ Yvan Cassar told our Nice-Matin colleagues. "It's a summer concert, and we want people to have a good time. A most charming duo. On stage at the Théâtre de Verdure, the tandem literally captivated the many spectators who came to watch the show.
Some of them were also able to meet up backstage. And they were clearly in good spirits too.
Roberto Alagna was immortalised all smiles with columnist and presenter Bernard Montiel, and also posed with his youngest daughter Malèna, born in 2014 and the fruit of his love affair with Polish soprano Aleksandra Kurzak, who was also present. "

The Ramatuelle Festival is delighted to be celebrating its 40th anniversary. Yesterday, at the closing night of the Nuits Classiques, we had an extraordinary experience.
We were all captivated by the performance of Roberto Alagna and Yvan Cassar, who took us on an extraordinary and unique musical journey. Together they played a refined collection of the most famous opera arias and the most captivating Italian melodies. Thanks to the enthusiasm of Roberto Alagna and Yvan Cassar, this moment became intense and full of passion.
Thomas Coeuriot on guitar/mandolin, Benoît Dunoyer on double bass and Julie Sévilla Fraysse on cello provided the musical accompaniment to this delightful moment.
It was an emotional moment, both gentle and powerful, where our passion took over. It was a truly magical moment!
Thanks to all
