[…] His phrasing directed by the breath is ample and generous, the top notes projected towards the balconies radiate through the entire room. Galvanized by the applause of the public and ignoring the fatigue, he performs one encore after the others. The ramp-up reaches a peak with the Lensky’s aria ("Kuda, kuda") from Eugene Oneguine by Tchaikovski. Alagna expresses a great sensitivity, a majestic legato and nuances of a sweetness to make any resistance melt. Creating a close relationship with the audience, he spoke on several occasions, announcing his next return to La Scala in Milan or his fear of not remembering the lyrics due to the effect of his jetlag. […] Alongside him, Yvan Cassar, a longtime companion, conducts the Île-de-France National Orchestra and offers dynamic and richly colored orchestral pages.
